Having worked in all areas of recruitment (over nearly 20 years!) from resourcing through to business development and now account management, the common theme for me has always been strong relationships. Trust and delivery are the bedrock to success and true client partnerships. I genuinely believe that we achieve this with all of our clients.
In my role, I sit between the client and our business and therefore have responsibility to both. This can be a difficult art to master if the two parties are not aligned, but we work incredibly hard to ensure we build common goals and outcomes for the success of everyone – and I think we do this really well!
Stakeholder relationships are key and this shouldn’t just be transactional. Every business has a vision for what our partnership success should be, but also take the time to listen to individuals in the business (not just Senior level), as people will have personal aims that we should also try to support. Above all, be open, communicate and deliver on promises.
I have cold showers every morning (to kick start my day, not because I’m tight with heating!)
Everything is about the customer. We believe that if the client relationship is strong, then the candidate experience will be too.
Hopefully as someone they trust. If we can trust each other, then we can overcome any challenges quickly and be more successful as a result.
